Minority Stress and Trauma-Informed Approaches

Marginalized groups experience daily stressors related to their minority status through stigma, discrimination, and oppression. This form of chronic stress is traumatic, and it affects individuals directly as well as the community as a whole.

This webinar will discuss these concepts and ways to minimize the impacts of this form of trauma and avoid the re-creation of these harmful structures. Organizations providing trauma-informed approaches must take this cultural understanding into account on both the individual level and organization-wide, systems level.
